This Germman series is ruling over viewers heart soon after its release on 9 May 2024. This is a six- part series on Amazon prime video directed by Martin Schreier and Tarek Roehlinger . Being a hardcore fan of Romance genre , it becomes hard for me to resist writing about this astounding series which is so captivating that people are watching it in one go.
Synopsis
In this series there is romance, love, drama, and heartbreak. This series is based on the famous book in romance genre ‘ Save Me’ by the writer named Mona Kasten. In this series you can see how the enemeys turned into lovers and how they struggle to process their own feelings. You can see the depth of love and the intensity of moments that leads to a perfect love story or a tragic story which is entangled in the ways of societal norms.
Characters
Characters in this series have one thing in common which is, they are highly ambitious for themselves. The female lead Ruby Bell [Harriet Herbig Matten] portrays the life of a girl who is working up her way to get selected in the most prestigious universities like Oxford, and amidst her family and financial struggles she fell in love , this changes her character in a way that she becomes totally different from what she hoped. Whereas the male lead James Beaufort[ Damian Hardung] character is a rich, handsome guy who has his own set of struggles in his life like parental pressure, maintaining the high society image and the arrival of love in his life helped him to find what it is actually he wants for himself. Other characters like Lydia Beaufort, Cyril Vega and others have also shown changes from the beginning of the story to the end.
Themes and Messages
Main theme of this series is the pursuit and after effects of love . This series also explores other themes like Family, loyalty and friendship. Characters like Lydia Beaufort, Alistair Ellington, Lin Wang and Helen Bell shows us the portrayal of themes like family and friendship. The Bell family’s love highlight the themes of love, family and loyalty.
Production Quality
The sets of this series seems different from other school romance series as they contributed a lot in the visuals of these series as they are all aesthetical. Every frame shows the beautiful cinematography. One of the sets where the parts of this series was filmed is a castle named Marienburg. The soundtrack of this series is also pleasant to the ears.
Impact and reception
Soon after its release on Amazon prime video, this new romantic series has been crowned as the most watched series on prime video worldwide. The level of chemistry between the main leads is rapidly attracting the viewers eyes. People are going crazy over this six-part series and expecting a new season in the future. The amount of love this series is receiving is applaudable.
Personal Opinion
As a fan of Maxton Hall- The world between us , the latest romantic series, I totally recommend this series to the viewrs who are in search of new romantic genre series. I was drawn to the performance of the actors , specially the main leads , they have given us a proper love story which has its own compications and struggles. As the end of this series was coming, the changes in the personality of the main lead characters were worth appreciating.
Conclusion
This series is a compete package of great artist performance and a good storyline. A perfect portrayal of how enemies turns into lovers . It is a blend of strong characters, family drama and passionate love.
